The Modern Mystery School

A New World is Upon Us

Every generation has faced their trials, and since 1997 when the doors of the Modern Mystery School opened to the public, our world has seemingly accelerated. From the way we interact, to how we work, much has changed! And there's much more change to come! This quickening comes from whether we will work together, as humanity, or continue to divide amongst ourselves. Finding common ground is salvation- and there is much more common ground than we allow ourselves to see. As humans, we easily look to our obstacles, our stories, and attachments as what defines us. While these provide important lessons, who we truly are is infinite- we are eternal beings.

The healings, activations, workshops, and initiations in The Modern Mystery School ultimately provide light, and where there is light there is choice. Instead of standing in a dark room, turn the light on and the options are far more abundant.

The Modern Mystery School

The Modern Mystery School is the only true mystery school that is open to the public; meaning anyone who feels that there is more to life than wake up, go to work, come home, pay bills, repeat; anyone who feels that they are here to help; anyone who feels like a foreigner in this world- is welcome. The healings and trainings bring alignment into all aspects of your being- so you can live into your divine birthright. As you work towards Know Thyself, you take hold of peace and empowerment. What you hold in your DNA is a key to World Peace, or Shamballah. This is the mission of the Modern Mystery School: Shamballah!

Training in the Modern Mystery School has a set path, with tools and teachings that are handed down, in specific order and timing- as the student is ready- so anyone can learn to be the master of one's "ship" = one's life, body, & mind! As we learn to master ourself, that effect ripples out into the world.

It is up to us to create a world of peace, of joy, of love.

The Structure of the Lineage

True mystery schools are identified by their unbroken and ancient lineage- meaning that all teachings are orally handed down from teacher to student, since their conception. Each of the 7 true mystery schools on the planet, have a unique structure to manage the energies of their specific school.

In the Modern Mystery School, there are three lineage holders: Founder Gudni Gudnason, Sovereign Ipssissimus Hideto Nakagome, Sovereign Ipssissimus Dave Lanyon, which together are called The Third Order. The title Ipssisimus, means “he who knows himself the most” thus it is given to those who have earned it. These three men have been the guardians and protectors of this sacred lineage, ensuring the ancient teachings remain pure in modern times, and are applied by certified practitioners, teachers, and guides with honor and reverence.

The Third Order consults with a Council of 12 women, six from Japan and six from the Western world, who discern what energies are needed on the planet at any given time. The Council of 12 Women may rotate who is on the council. The title these women have earned is called “Divina.”

In 2021 the Lineage of King Salomon was ready to grow, and with that the responsibility of leadership was ready to be shared so the Ipsissimi Council was initiated with the first seven women and to date there are now 11 Ipsissimas, the feminine of the term Ipsissimus. That’s eleven women who know themselves the most and have brought their unique specialties into the lineage for others to learn from, their titles reflect each Ipssissima’s specialty to hold for the lineage.

  • Founder Gudni "GED" Gudnason

    FOUNDER & HIEROPHANT

    The Founder of the Modern Mystery School, born as Gudni Halldor Gudnason von Thoroddsen, in the direct lineage of the War God, Thor, who hails from the lands of Yggdrasil. Founder Gudni Gudnason was initiated into the Lineage of King Salomon in the 1970's. Since an early age he has been traveling the world and teaching hundreds and thousands of people in the ways of Alchemy and Kabbalah- awakening them to the possibility of World Peace. He is a Knight Templar, Celtic Shaman, Viking Shaman, DJ, Producer, and more.

    He lives a magickal life of art, passion, and joy with his wife Ipssisima Eiko Gudnason in Japan. 

  • Sovereign Ipsissimus Hideto "REI" Nakagome

    Sovereign Ipssissimus Hideto was a bodyguard to the Dalai Lama, when he met Founder Gudni. He is an initiated Priest of Mikkyo Esoteric Buddhism, born into a pure Japanese Samurai family. Sovereign Ipssissimus Hideto is the head of the Ensofic Ray Institute and is passionate in reminding people of the beauty and goodness in themselves!

    He lives in Japan with his beautiful wife Ipssissima Luisa Nakagome and their two children. 

  • Sovereign Ipssisimus Dave "THOR" Lanyon

    Sovereign Ipssissimus Dave has been crucial in The Modern Mystery School's growth from 12 countries to 55. He is a world class accomplished Martial Art instructor, and head of the Warriors of Light training program. With decades of martial arts training, business acumen, and as a former therapist serving on the therapists ethics board in Canada, Sovereign Ipssissimus Dave brings mental and physical discipline to the Modern Mystery School's mission of World Peace. He is a two time published author of “You Are Not Perfect the Way You Are” and “Essential Principles for the Warrior of Light.”

    Sovereign Ipssissimus Dave lives with his wife Ipssisima Franca Lanyon and their son, in Toronto, Canada where the Modern Mystery School Western World headquarters is located.

The Modern Mystery School Beliefs

We believe that all humans have come from a Divine Origin and are therefore made from a Divine substance, therefore in a sense are Gods and Goddesses!

We believe that all humans are Eternal, that we have never been born and therefore we can never die. Yes, we have a physical body, but so does the butterfly have a shell, a larva that then transforms into their true nature. We believe that we are in that process, becoming our true self!

We believe that all humans have all the knowledge we need, and that whatever questions we have, the answers reside within ourselves. The Mystery School was established only to assist humans to find those answers, not to give them!

We believe that humans are constructed by three components, physical body, soul and spirit and that all three of these need to be taken care of through wisdom, nurturing, and healing. The Mystery School Lineage provides this with ancient metaphysical tools used and perfected over thousands of years.

The Lineage has focused on working with and creating tools to handle the complicated machine or the computer of the human vehicle, what we call the MIND. Our tools are aimed to help each individual take back control of this vehicle for themselves so they can create a better life. We believe that all of our physical manifestations start within the mind thus it is so important to take good care of it!

We believe that humans are born as two different genders, male and female, as so proven by biology and that the science of this is accurate. We then believe in the individual’s freedom to regard themselves as whatever or whoever makes them happy, but that the facts are indisputable that our foundational physicality is that we are all born either male or female and that there are undeniable differences in that foundation.  

We furthermore believe that we have certain archetypes for us to follow and strive to be like, these all being Gods and Goddesses of ancient times on earth, bringing us good values and traits for us to follow and admire. These archetypes have inspired us humans for thousands of years and they define our lives in every way, allowing us to overcome any obstacle that comes before us, to grow greater than our previous self and rise victorious in life. Without these divine archetypes we would not nor could we attain such heights of human potential. 

We believe in the essential goodness of all humans or their capacity for such, even though history may show different. Humans are innately good, and with the correct environmental influence and inner self work we can accomplish our highest human potential to do good!

We believe in the right of self-determination as well as taking full responsibility for one’s own thoughts, actions and words in all situations. We believe that the true ownership of those things is laid at the feet of the individual self, whether it bares good or bad fruit for themselves or others. We believe that the character and integrity of a individual is far more important and meaningful than the identification of one by a group or a collective.

We believe people should have the freedom to express themselves in a healthy way, unburdened by any constraint to conform to a particular group or person’s personal opinions or acceptance of those views.

We believe in the power of humans to create a better world and that with the correct nurturing we can accomplish that goal. This would not be accomplished with any one organization (including the Modern Mystery School), religion or otherwise such, but rather through the power of the people themselves, led by their love of freedom, acceptance of themselves and others and peace!

We value society, as it has given us the opportunity to serve the greater good to a larger audience.
